Inter-provincial trophy: Khost tops group D and qualifies for the quarter finals
01.10.2010 22:24Khost is the fourth team to qualify for the quarter finals in Afghanistan's inter-provincial T20 trophy.
Khost won two mathces beating Baghlan and Helmand. Khost is fourth province qualifying for the quarter finals after Paktia, Panshir and Logar. Khost will play Panshir in the quarter finals.
Thousands of spectators (mostly Khostis) were present in the newly renovated National Cricket Stadium. The upgraded facility includes a much leveled ground, a score board, a sight screen, seats for 2000 spectators, and a pavilion. The Inter-provincial T20 trophy has kicked off on Sunday in Kabul. All matches are televised live on Shamshad TV that can be seen in all 34 provinces by the mass public through land antenna and abroad through satellite. Twenty four provinces contest in the trophy at the Youth Stadium in Kabul. The trophy continues for 15 days. Group D round up:

Khost v Baghlan Khost won the toss and elected to bat first. Khost scored 154 in 20 overs losing 6 wickets. Rashid Zadran made 48 and Bismilla 46 runs. Baghlan scored 104 runs losing all wickets. Khost v Helmad Helmand won the toss and elected to bat first. Helmand lost all wickets for 73 runs giving a low target to strong Khost. Khost chased the target in 11 overs having 9 wickets in hand. Baghlan v Helmand Helmand won the match.
