Inter-provincial T20: Panjshir reserves a seat in quarter finals from group B

Panshir provincial team has qualified for the quarter finals of Afghanistan Inter-provincial T20 trophy after winning two consecutive matches in its group B against Kunduz and Kapisa.

With the two wins Panshir does not have to wait for the result of the third match between Kunduz and Kapisa as that won’t have an effect on it storming to the quarter finals. Panshir is the second to qualify after Paktia made through quarter finals from group A.

Inter-provincial T20 trophy has kicked off on Sunday in Kabul. All matches are televised live on Shamshad TV that can be seen in all 34 provinces by the mass public through land antenna and abroad through satellite. Twenty four provinces contest in the trophy at the Youth Stadium in Kabul. The trophy continues for 15 days.

Panjshir v Kunduz

Kunduz batted first and lost all wickets for 96 runs in 18th over. Parviz from Panshir too 5 wickets. Panjshir struggled to chase the target of 97, but finally reached the target in the last over winning by one wicket. Shir Rahman of Panjshir scored 45 runs.

Panjshir v Kapisa (First half 27th September 2010)

Panjshir won the toss and elected to bat first. In 20 overs, Panjshir scored 116 for losing all wickets. Panjshir batting struggled as only Javed could reach the figure of 22 (the highest individual score). Kapisa even struggled more when it could not chase the target of 117 and lost all wickets for 109 runs.

Kunduz v Kapisa (Second half 27th September 2010)

Kapisa won the toss and elected to bat first. Kapisa scored 107 in 20 overs for losing all wickets. Kunduz in response lost all wickets for 100 runs.
