Inter-provincial T20 Trophy: Logar qualifies to quarter finals from group C
28.09.2010 14:48Logar’s provincial team under the leadership of Raees Ahmadzai, former national team player, has taken the third seat in the quarter finals after winning two matches in row in the C group.
Both matches were played today in the National Youth Cricket Stadium in Kabul. Captain Raees Ahmadzai was himself a key to Logar success in both matches. He earlier vowed to try his best to take the trophy to Logar province.
Logar will meet Paktia in the quarter finals which is considered a clash between two favorites and is expected to be a fine match as huge crowed is expected in the ground.
Raees Ahmazai, Gulbadeen, and Hashmatullah Shahidi (all players of national team at different times) are playing the strong Logar team.
The National Cricket Stadium was renovated for this trophy. The upgraded facility includes a much leveled ground, a score board, a sight screen, seats for 2000 spectators, and a pavilion.
The Inter-provincial T20 trophy has kicked off on Sunday in Kabul. All matches are televised live on Shamshad TV that can be seen in all 34 provinces by the mass public through land antenna and abroad through satellite. Twenty four provinces contest in the trophy at the Youth Stadium in Kabul. The trophy continues for 15 days.

Logar v Ghazni (First half 28h September 2010)
Ghazni won the toss and elected to bat first. Ghazni was stunned for 44 runs all out in 8 overs. Logar although lost 4 wickets smashed a few fours and easily reached the target of 45.
Logar Balkh (Second half 28h September 2010)
In a different encounter strong Logar met strong Balkh. Both knew that a win means cruising to the quarter finals for them. Logar won the toss and decided to bat first. Losing 6 wickets in 20 overs Logar was able to put a decent score of 151 on the newly installed score board of the National Cricket Stadium. A determined Balkh tries its level best to chase the target of 152 and at a time was believed to be able to reach the target, but lost quick wickets to Raees Ahmadzai, Gulbadeen Naib, Noshad and Najib Zadran. Balkh lost all wickets in the 18th over for 118 runs loosing the match by 33 runs to Logar.
Balkh v Ghazni (First half 29h September 2010)
Balkh won the toss and chose to bat first. In 15 overs Balkh lost all wickets for 84 runs. Ghazni chases the target in 13 overs for losing two wickets.
